Comtrade Gaming at SBC Lisbon: Platform Power and CG Games

We had the pleasure to video interview Steven Valentine, the Chief Commercial Officer, and Anja B. Bojetú, Business Development Manager at Comtrade Gaming. The video is also available on YouTube.

About Comtrade Gaming

Comtrade Gaming has been active in the industry for more than 20 years. The company began as an outsourced software developer before transitioning into creating its own products. Over time, Comtrade grew into a dedicated iGaming technology company.

The business is now active in multiple verticals, focusing on online platforms, developing games, and also contributing to the land-based sector.

“We’re primarily a technology company in gaming.”

Scale and footprint

Comtrade has kept its roots in Slovenia, operating three offices with more than 400 employees. Alongside this European presence, the company has also expanded into Asia.

The focus has always been on serving large-scale operators. Many of the biggest global brands rely on Comtrade’s systems to run their businesses.

“We operate at the enterprise level of gaming.”

What a platform provider does

An iGaming platform functions as the core system behind an online casino. It manages every step of the player journey, including:

This makes the platform the central engine of an operator’s business.

“It is the enterprise system that runs the business.”

Positioning among platform providers

Comtrade differs from competitors by offering tailored solutions for a smaller selection of large clients. Instead of working with hundreds of start-ups, the company focuses on bespoke services for Tier 1 operators.

This approach allows for closer collaboration and ensures that clients have the flexibility and support to match their market ambitions.

“We tailor our solutions for individual clients.”

The company’s philosophy centers on helping each partner scale quickly and dominate its target market. The technology stack and delivery model are designed to keep up with client strategies and ensure that operators never fall short of tools they need.

“Our focus is helping the operator grow as fast as possible.”

Case study: Superbet

One of Comtrade’s biggest success stories is Superbet. Around seven years ago the operator migrated its business to Comtrade’s platform. Since then, the company has experienced growth of nearly 1,000 percent.

Today, Superbet ranks among the largest online gambling operators in the world. Comtrade’s role was to deliver the technology foundation that allowed Superbet’s internal team to execute its strategy effectively.

“We gave them the tools to execute their strategy.”

Introducing CG Games

Beyond platforms, Comtrade also established CG Games. This initiative grew from the team’s long experience creating games for Tier 1 operators. Their consistent quality led to the launch of a branded game portfolio.

“We learned we’re very good at making games, so we launched our brand.”

CG Games is already live in several regulated markets. The studio holds certifications in the UK and Romania, is MGA licensed, and is now going live in Brazil.

Expansion into further regions in EMEA is also underway, giving the studio a broad international footprint.

“It’s an exciting time as we go live in Brazil.”

Portfolio and release schedule

Currently, the studio has 23 live titles. The focus is on Slots and Crash games. The development pipeline delivers at a steady pace, with a goal of releasing one new title every month.

“We’re live with 23 titles and launch monthly.”

The uniqueness of CG Games lies in quality, flexibility, and speed to market. Strong relationships with Tier 1 operators add an extra layer of trust and alignment. Games are designed to be adaptable to different audiences while keeping high standards of design.

“Our uniqueness is quality, partnerships, flexibility, and speed.”

Feedback and development

Feedback is collected from both operators and players. Operators often know their audience best and point out what features or mechanics resonate most. This input becomes the foundation for new games or customized content.

By co-creating concepts with partners, CG Games ensures that titles stay aligned with both market demand and operator needs.

“We create a recipe together that works for both sides.”

Roadmap into 2026

Looking ahead, the main priority is LATAM, with Brazil at the center of attention. Additional certifications across Europe and other EMEA markets are also on the agenda. The goal is to keep expanding while strengthening partnerships in existing regions.

“All eyes are on Brazil while more EMEA markets come online.”

The team emphasizes that entertainment is a lifestyle. They aim to keep delivering games that appeal to wide audiences and remain relevant across different markets.

“Entertainment is our lifestyle and we plan to deliver even more.”
