Yann Bautista is one of the six founders and currently serves as Commercial Director of Peter & Sons, a boutique studio known for creating distinctive casino games for the real money market.
“My name is Yann Bautista. I’m one of the founders and commercial director of Peter & Sons.”
His role bridges business development, partnerships, and ensuring the studio’s creative output reaches operators worldwide.
Peter & Sons began its journey in 2019. The founding team came from both iGaming and mobile gaming, combining perspectives from different corners of interactive entertainment.
The studio was never intended to blend in with traditional slot providers. Its mission was to inject fresh design and visual flair into a sector often dominated by conventional titles.
“The idea behind it was to bring a different vision, a different style into the traditional casino games and do something different.”
The growth has been rapid. From six founders, Peter & Sons scaled to a workforce of about 60 members within five years.
The company now delivers around 30 games annually, covering a broad spectrum of mechanics and themes. Releases are a mix of internal creations and exclusive projects for strategic partners.
Importantly, the studio operates through its own platform and distribution system, ensuring independence and flexibility in bringing titles to market.
Peter & Sons holds a wide portfolio of licenses and certifications, which makes their games accessible across multiple regulated markets:
This broad regulatory footprint allows the studio to serve both established and emerging markets, reflecting its global ambitions.
Bautista’s professional roots lie in mobile gaming. Entering iGaming felt like a natural progression, though he initially underestimated the complexity of building casino games.
“What captured me was the rhythm, the potential, and the number of partners and agreements. You can never get bored.”
The fast pace of the industry, frequent deals, and constant demand for new content quickly convinced him of iGaming’s long-term potential.
Among the portfolio, Barbarossa (the sequel) stands out as a flagship. It is a high-volatility slot that leverages a DoubleMax-style increasing multiplier, creating intense gameplay moments.
“I wasn’t sure at first, but now it’s our flagship game and a player favorite.”
Other popular games and series include:
Together these titles showcase the mix of storytelling, mechanics, and experimentation that define Peter & Sons.
Bautista emphasizes that there is no universal recipe for success. Each market has its own preferences, and pleasing all segments at once is a challenge.
Still, there are constants. A game must align theme and mechanic seamlessly, maintain a tempo that feels right, and most importantly, deliver rewards that players perceive as fair.
“The game needs to pay. If players don’t feel rewarded, it won’t become popular.”
Development strategy combines proven concepts with experimentation. Some releases rework classic themes in unexpected ways, while others introduce new mechanics to test player response.
“It’s a lot of try and error. You experiment, and when you find something, it still isn’t a standard formula.”
Even past hits cannot simply be cloned; success in iGaming is about constant iteration rather than replicating the past.
Player protection is embedded in the studio’s approach. Every title is certified to ensure compliance with the rules of each jurisdiction where it is offered.
“We follow the rules, certify all games, and go through deep processes to ensure compliance.”
This involves audits, independent testing, and an internal team dedicated to regulatory affairs. The aim is to create a safe environment while preserving engaging entertainment.
For existing fans, Peter & Sons promises ongoing innovation without losing its unique brand identity. For those who have yet to try, the invitation is simple: play and experience the difference firsthand.
“We always try to bring something fresh and be loyal to what Peter & Sons is.”
The studio is committed to maintaining momentum, ensuring that each new release adds variety and value to the player experience.
At SBC Summit Lisbon 2026, CasinoLove caught up with Lauryn Duncan, Head of Sales at Peter & Sons, to discuss the studio's progress since our previous interview in 2025. The conversation covered international expansion, partnerships with major casino operators, new game formats, promotional tools, and how the studio is increasing its output without losing its distinctive artistic identity.
When we interviewed Peter & Sons founder Yann Bautista at SBC Lisbon in 2025, the studio had already established itself as a distinctive casino game developer with a growing international presence. One year later, the company has significantly expanded its distribution network and strengthened its relationships with casino operators.
For Lauryn Duncan, the most important achievement of the past year has been the scale of this expansion, particularly because the company has managed to grow while maintaining the creative identity that made its games recognizable in the first place.
"For me it's definitely the amount of distribution and just how much we've expanded in the last year without losing the core identity of who we are as Peter & Sons."
Duncan describes the past twelve months as a fantastic year for the studio. However, expanding distribution is only the beginning. The next challenge is making the most of the relationships and partnerships that have already been established.
Peter & Sons now works with a much wider range of casino brands. The company wants to ensure that these partnerships translate into genuine opportunities for players to discover and enjoy its games.
Simply having games available on an operator's platform is not enough. The studio also needs to work with its partners to make sure that players can find those games among the many competing titles.
During the interview, we discussed Peter & Sons' recent partnerships with major operators, including bet365 and Kaizen Gaming.
These relationships represent an important step in the studio's international growth. However, securing partnerships with large operators also brings additional expectations.
According to Duncan, major operators expect more from their game suppliers than a catalogue of attractive casino games.
"For these operators, strong account management, good regulatory services, fantastic partnerships and of course quality content that works is essential for us and for them."
This means Peter & Sons must deliver on several fronts simultaneously. Its games need to perform well, but the studio must also provide reliable account management, regulatory support, and ongoing cooperation with its partners.
For a game developer expanding into multiple markets, these business and operational capabilities are becoming just as important as the games themselves.
Peter & Sons distributes its games through both direct operator integrations and game aggregation platforms.
We asked Duncan how the company decides which distribution route makes the most sense when entering or expanding within a particular market.
She explained that aggregation remains an essential part of the company's strategy, but direct integrations are equally relevant in the right circumstances.
"Aggregation is essential for us and very, very important. We use both, as you mentioned, direct integrations and aggregators."
The decision depends on several factors, including the structure of the local market, applicable regulations, the operator involved, and the commercial opportunity.
For example, different markets may have different regulatory requirements or established distribution arrangements. Similarly, a direct relationship with a particular operator may offer commercial advantages that justify a separate integration.
Rather than committing exclusively to one distribution model, Peter & Sons evaluates each opportunity individually.
"We look at various things and it's both. It's not one or the other."
This flexible approach allows the studio to expand its reach while adapting to the requirements of different operators and jurisdictions.
Although Peter & Sons is best known for its visually distinctive online slots, the studio is broadening its portfolio to include additional casino game formats.
These include instant win games, scratch games, and crash-style products, alongside its traditional slot releases.
Duncan explained that the main reason for this expansion is changing player behavior.
"Player behavior is evolving. So traditional slots are always going to remain very important to us. But, as the player behavior changes, of course we're going to change to suit that as well."
Traditional slots will remain an important part of Peter & Sons' business, but the company also recognizes the need to respond to players who are interested in different types of gaming experiences.
However, moving into new game categories does not mean abandoning the studio's existing visual style.
Duncan emphasized that the Peter & Sons identity is something both players and casino operators already recognize. The plan is to bring that identity into the new formats rather than create products that feel disconnected from the studio's established portfolio.
"We're always going to stay true to our identity and our visual look of who Peter & Sons is. It's what players know, it's what the operators know."
In other words, the company wants to offer new types of gameplay while preserving the artwork, characters, and visual storytelling that distinguish its games from those of other developers.
Another important development at Peter & Sons is its investment in promotional and gamification tools.
During the interview, we highlighted several tools from the studio's growing offering, including Cash Spins, Cash Quest, and Cash Rain.
These features are designed to give casino operators additional ways to promote games and encourage player engagement.
Duncan explained that the idea behind these tools is to help operator partners bring more attention to Peter & Sons titles.
"The idea behind all of it is to give our operator partners more ways for players to engage with our games."
The need for promotional support is becoming increasingly important because the online casino market contains an enormous amount of content. Operators can choose from thousands of games across many different providers.
For a game studio, simply releasing a title and making it available through an operator is no guarantee that players will discover it.
Peter & Sons therefore wants to work more closely with its partners, using promotional tools to increase the visibility of its games and create additional opportunities for player engagement.
"There's so many games in the market now and operators have got so much content to choose through. So we want to work together with them and our tools to ensure players are playing Peter & Sons."
The studio sees these tools as an important complement to game development and distribution. They can help turn a successful integration into a more active commercial relationship.
Peter & Sons has experienced significant growth in team size, production capacity, and international distribution.
However, scaling a creative game studio brings its own challenges. Increasing the number of annual releases can put pressure on development teams, particularly when the company's reputation depends on distinctive artwork and carefully designed game worlds.
We asked Duncan how Peter & Sons is managing this expansion without losing the handcrafted identity that made the studio stand out.
She acknowledged that this has been one of the company's biggest internal challenges.
"That was actually a huge challenge that we had and there's been a lot of behind-the-scenes work that's been done in terms of internal processes."
The studio has invested considerable effort in improving internal workflows and making its production processes more efficient. At the same time, it has worked to support the creativity of its development teams.
The goal is to produce more games while ensuring that players can still immediately recognize the Peter & Sons style.
This is particularly important because the studio's identity goes beyond individual gameplay mechanics. Its distinctive artwork, characters, and storytelling are central to the experience.
One of the most interesting announcements from the interview concerns the company's upcoming production roadmap.
Duncan revealed that Peter & Sons has already planned a substantial part of its 2027 game release schedule, with the possibility of producing up to 50 games.
"We've become a lot more efficient, we are producing a lot more content, we have a whole roadmap planned for next year already of up to 50 games, I think."
This represents a significant increase compared with the approximately 30 annual releases discussed in our 2025 interview.
However, Duncan made it clear that increasing production volume must not come at the expense of the studio's creative identity.
"It was important for us to do this while still protecting our art and our characters and the storytelling of our games, which is something that we're so proud of."
For Peter & Sons, the challenge is not simply producing more content. It is finding a sustainable way to grow while continuing to create games that feel original and recognizable.
The studio's growth has also been accompanied by significant recognition from the iGaming industry.
During our conversation, we highlighted several awards Peter & Sons had received during 2026, including:
We asked Duncan whether this recognition marks the company's transition from a rising boutique game studio into an established international supplier.
She described the awards as an important achievement and a source of pride for the entire team.
"It's absolutely amazing to be able to receive these awards and have this recognition in the industry. As a studio we're so proud of it, but of course it's also a lot more than the awards."
For Duncan, the real measure of progress is not limited to industry recognition. She also points to the company's wider distribution network, its growing presence in different markets, and the partnerships it has secured with major casino operators.
These achievements demonstrate that Peter & Sons has been able to grow its commercial operations while continuing to protect the artistic style that defines the brand.
Maintaining that balance is something the studio considers particularly important as it becomes a more established international supplier.
One of Peter & Sons' most recognizable game series is Greedy Alice, which combines the studio's characteristic visual design with its own gameplay experience.
The sequel, Greedy Alice 2: Bigger Bites, was also selected as the winner of CasinoLove's Game of the Month for July 2026.
All three CasinoLove presenters rated the game highly, making it the winning title in that month's competition.
We asked Duncan what makes the Greedy Alice series connect with players and what the development team learned when turning the original game into a sequel.
"Greedy Alice is a very visually distinctive Peter & Sons game."
According to Duncan, the studio wanted to create something that players would enjoy for more than just its underlying mechanics.
The visual identity and overall game world were important parts of the original Greedy Alice experience, so developing a sequel came with a particular concern: how to introduce something new without losing what made the first game special.
"When we created Greedy Alice 2, there's always that concern: are you going to lose the magic that you made in the first game?"
Duncan believes the development team managed to avoid that problem.
The goal was to retain the recognizable elements of the original while giving players a new opportunity to enter the Greedy Alice world.
"We wanted to retain what we had created in the first game, and have players jump into the Greedy Alice 2 world and be just as excited about it."
The sequel's success in CasinoLove's Game of the Month competition provides an example of how Peter & Sons can develop an existing game concept while keeping its distinctive identity.
It also illustrates the studio's wider approach to game development: combining recognizable characters and visual storytelling with new releases that give players a reason to return.
To conclude the interview, we asked Duncan what she believes will define success for casino game developers over the coming year.
Her answer focused on three important areas: high-quality content, strong distribution, and meaningful player engagement.
First, studios must continue creating games that players genuinely want to experience.
Second, they need effective distribution networks that allow their products to reach operators across different markets.
Third, they must find ways to generate engagement with games that are already available, rather than concentrating exclusively on new releases.
"We need to be able to create fantastic content, very strong distribution into new markets, and the ability to generate real engagement with our players and the content that's already live."
Duncan believes the industry is entering a period in which simply producing more games will no longer be enough to guarantee success.
There is already more casino content available than ever before, making competition for player attention increasingly difficult.
"Everyone knows there's more content than ever that the market is receiving and producing more games isn't going to be enough anymore."
For developers, this means understanding player behavior and the differences between individual markets will become even more important.
A game that performs well in one market may not necessarily achieve the same results elsewhere. Studios therefore need to understand what players want, create products that stand out, and work closely with operators to help those products reach their intended audiences.
Duncan sees this combination of creativity, market understanding, distribution, and operator cooperation as essential to the future success of Peter & Sons and the wider iGaming industry.
Our second interview with Peter & Sons shows how much the company has developed since our first conversation in Lisbon in 2025.
The studio has expanded its distribution network, established relationships with major operators such as bet365 and Kaizen Gaming, invested in promotional tools, and broadened its portfolio beyond traditional slots.
At the same time, it is preparing an ambitious 2027 release roadmap, potentially including up to 50 games.
However, throughout the interview, Duncan repeatedly emphasized that growth should not come at the expense of the company's creative identity.
The distinctive artwork, characters, and storytelling that made Peter & Sons recognizable remain central to its strategy, even as the business expands into new markets and game categories.
The interview concluded with an invitation to enjoy the atmosphere at the Peter & Sons stand, which featured specially prepared cocktails and tattoo designs created by the studio's artists.
We thank Lauryn Duncan and the Peter & Sons team for welcoming CasinoLove to their stand at SBC Summit Lisbon 2026.
